Vietnam, China boost sustainable fishery development in Tonkin Gulf

Beijing (VNA) – Representativesof Vietnamese and Chinese agriculture ministries participated in a fishreleasing event on May 8 on the Beilun River in Dongxing City of south China’sGuangxi province on the Vietnam – China border.

Participants released more than 41 million fishof different kinds to boost sustainable development of fisheries in the Gulf ofTonkin. 

Vietnam and China have worked together invarious fields, particularly agriculture and fisheries, said Vietnamese DeputyMinister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam. 

He added that the cooperation in the Gulf ofTonkin has been positive.

For his part, Chinese Deputy AgricultureMinister Yu Kangzhen said the two countries can support each other infisheries’ development
He also noted that the Tonkin Gulffishery resources development will help deepen Vietnam and China cooperation infish fishing, seed cultivation, feed research and other areas while building astable long-term mechanism. 
The Gulf of Tonkin is home to more than50 kinds of economically valuable fish as well as crabs, shrimps andshellfish.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
