Vietnam, Bolivia to strengthen all-round affiliation

Bolivian President Evo Morales and Vietnamese Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan met in La Paz on May 19, stressing their determination to expand the countries’ multi-faceted cooperation for mutual benefit.

Vice President Doan, who was on an official visit to Bolivia from May18-19, congratulated the Latin American country on its socio-economicaccomplishments in the past decade, including a fair growth rate andimproved living standards.

She stated that Vietnamattaches importance to reinforcing solidarity and mutually beneficialmulti-faceted cooperation with Bolivia, especially in energy,telecommunications and agriculture.

She also thanked the Bolivian Government and people for their support to Vietnam historically and currently.

President Evo Morales expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s nationalprotection and ‘Doi moi’ (Renewal) achievements, deeming the country anexample for his nation to learn from, as both nations share a number ofhistorical and developmental similarities.

Hestressed that Bolivia is willing to intensify the bilateral friendshipand comprehensive collaboration, adding that his country continuallysupports Vietnam in national development and defence.

He also asked Vice President Doan to convey his invitation to otherVietnamese leaders to visit Bolivia and expressed his intent to visitthe Southeast Asian nation in late 2015.

Also on May19, Doan met with representatives of top Bolivian companies to presentVietnam’s business climate and investment opportunities.

She affirmed that Vietnam pledges favourable conditions for the twobusiness circles to partner, ultimately bringing their economicrelations on par with the countries’ political ties.-VNA
