Hanoi (VNA)♛ – Vietnamese shooters have gottwo bronze medals at the ongoing 2023 Asia Shooting Championship in Changwon city, the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Asian Games champion Pham Quang Huy and histeammates Lai Cong Minh and Phan Cong Minh got a bronze medal in the men’s 10mair pistol team with 1,736 points. Meanwhile, the Chinese team got the gold medalwith 1,750 points, and the RoK team got silver with 1,746 points. Another bronze medal for Vietnam was in women’s10m air pistol as shooter Trinh Thu Vinh got 219.7 points, after Oh Ye Jin fromRoK with 244.1 points, and Jian Ranxin from China with 241.8 points. Vinh is the only Vietnamese shooter to win aticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics. A total of 24 Olympic quota places are on offerin the Korean tournament in which about 1,800 athletes from 45 nations are participating. The places are divided across the 12 individualevents in the rifle, pistol, trap and skeet categories./.
