Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation of theVietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), led by its President Bui VanCuong, attended the conference of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU)Presidential Council that opened in Tehran, Iran, on February 26.
Cuong, also WFTU Vice President, joined thePresidium of the conference at the opening ceremony.
The conference is scheduled to ratify 2017financial and operation reports of WFTU, while discussing measures to improvethe organisation’s performance in 2018, and its theme for 2019, focusing ontraining.
After the opening speech by the WFTU,participants were briefed the host’s socio-economic development, labour, therole of its trade union in policy-making as well as its national action planson poverty eradication, inequality abolishment, employment growth and labourers’voice.-VNA
