Vietnam attends int’l charity fair in China

The Embassy of Vietnam in China joined the 10th International Charity Bazaar, which was held in Beijing on October 21.

Beijing (VNA) – The Embassy ofVietnam in China joined the 10th International Charity Bazaar, which was heldin Beijing on October 21.

The event was jointly held by theauthorities of Beijing and the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA),with the participation of more than 90 diplomatic representative offices,international organisations and expatriates living in China.

Vietnam’s traditional nem (fried springroll) and coffee were served to visitors. The Vietnamese embassy also attendedvarious other activities held in the charity fair.

Themed “Love knows no border – to Hear theLove from the World”, the bazaar aimed to raise funds for children with hearingproblems to receive free surgeries and for the poor in Gansu province.

Speaking at the fair, Qian Wei, spouse ofChinese State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, said the bazaar not onlyraises funds for the needy but also offers a destination for expats in China tomeet and introduce their countries, people, craft products and cuisine.

The event also bolstered cultural exchangesand art performances of participating countries, thus deepening solidarity andfriendship, she added.

Proceeds of the event will be presented tocharitable activities. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, asum worth more than 4.5 million CNY (over 700,000 USD) was raised during lastyear’s edition of the bazaar.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
