Hanoi(VNA) 🐲– Vietnamese firms are displaying products at the 24th South African InternationalTrade Exhibition (SAITEX) opened on June 25 in Johannesburg city, South Africa.
The businesses promotedtheir strengths in agriculture, household appliances and wooden furniture,among others, enticing local importers and visitors who were interested in the prices,quality, producing process and export possibility of Vietnamese goods. The fair offers anopportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to introduce Vietnamese export staplesin South Africa and Africa in general, said Vu Van Dung, Vietnamese Ambassadorto South Africa. He hailedbilateral trade turnover of more than 1 billion USD as a highlight of Vietnam’seconomic activities in Africa. However, henoted that there is huge potential for Vietnam to enhance trade cooperationwith the region, especially the host country, expressing his hope for better accessof Vietnamese products to the market. SAITEX is thebiggest annual international trade fair in Africa, aiming to boost tradeexchange between South Africa and other countries while creating better linksbetween producers, exporters, importers and distributors. This year’sexhibition, which runs through June 27, gathers nearly 600 businesses and morethan 50,000 people from about 30 countries and territories worldwide. -VNA
South Africa considers Vietnam a promising economic partner, said South African Ambassador to Vietnam Kgomotso Ruth Magau during a Vietnam-South Africa business meeting on June 23 in Ho Chi Minh City.
