Vietnam attends charity fair in South Africa

Vietnam joined more than 50 diplomatic missions, international organisations and United Nations agencies at the Diplomatic Fair 2013 in Pretoria , South Africa on October 26.

Organisedby the South African Department of International Relations andCooperation, the event was to mark the 50 th anniversary of theestablishment of the African Union (AU).

The charity bazaaroffered an opportunity for participating nations to introduce theirhistory, traditional cultures and beautiful landscape.

African nations also took the chance to highlight the all-Africa spirit –an important goal pursued by the former Organisation of African Unity( OAU ) and now the AU in order to build an Africa of peace,solidarity and unity in diversity.

Thousands of visitorsenjoyed art performances imbued with cultural identities ofparticipating countries, including dances and songs, fashion shows,calligraphy and culinary arts.

Vietnam ’s pavilion wasone of the highlights in the fair, just like in previous events. Apartfrom the all-time popular fried spring rolls and G7 coffee, visitorswere impressed by Vietnamese handicrafts and conical hats.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
