Vietnam ’s national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines (VA), hosted an event in Paris on September 15 for its customers in France, a majority of whom are overseas Vietnamese.

The enthusiasticsupport of overseas Vietnamese in France contributes greatly to thesuccess of the direct air service between Vietnam ’s Hanoi and HoChi Minh City and Paris, one of the most important routes operated byVA, said the director of the airline’s representative office in Europe,Le Dung.

According to Dung, VA has about15,000 regular passengers on the Vietnam-France route, 70 percent ofthem are Vietnamese who use the “Golden Lotus” frequent flyersprogramme.

He said the VA organizes this eventannually to express thanks to loyal customers in France , as well asto affirm its commitment to the French market, a fast-growing marketvery important to the airline. This year, the VA brought to the eventtwo concerts with the performance of popular Vietnamese singers, andoffered special promotions on the Vietnam-France route.

Vietnam Airlines is the only airline operating a direct servicebetween Vietnam and France. It has also collaborated with AirFrance to offer an average of two flights a day from Hanoi and HoChi Minh City to Paris.-VNA
