Hanoi (VNA) - Minister of Culture,Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien has highly appreciated the efforts ofcoaches and athletes in the first working weeks after the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.
At a meeting with the coaches and athletes at HanoiNational Sports Training Centre on February 12, Thien congratulated Vietnam’ssports sector and wished athletes luck for more success in 2019.
The minister also wished all athletes to beconfident and determined to bring glory to the nation in the regional,continental and global events this year.
He also suggested thedelegation focus on success at the 30th Southeast Asia Games (SEAGames 30), which will be held from November 30 to December 10 this year in thePhilippines.
Thien also urged athletes to work to match orexceed their achievement of one gold and one silver at the Rio Olympics 2016 atthe Olympics 2020.
