Vietnam aims for medals at World Skills Competition

Vietnam is hoping to bag a few medals for the first time at the 43rd World Skills Competition (WSC 2015) from August 5-17 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, an official has said.

Vietnam is hoping to bag a few medals for the first time at the 43rd World Skills Competition (WSC 2015) from August 5-17 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, an official has said. Speaking at a Hanoi ceremony on August 4 to send the first batch out of 14 Vietnamese competitors to the event, Director General of the General Department of Vocational Training under the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Duong Duc Lan, who is also Head of the delegation, said Vietnam has so far only won Certificates of Excellence for its five years of participating.
The competitors, who have been well-trained by outstanding and experienced enterprises, will compete in 16 skill categories, including seven first-tested out-skills, namely CNC milling, industrial control, plastic moulding technology, prototyping, joinery, automotive technology and welding.
As many as 1,192 competitors from 64 countries and territories worldwide are competing in 46 occupational and four performance skills during this year’s WSC. Vietnam started participating in the competition in 2007 and earned seven outstanding skills certificates in 2011 and 2013.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
