Hanoi (VNA) - Vietjet Air and Satair, an Airbus Services company, have signed a multi-year agreement for Satair’s Integrated Material Services (IMS), a comprehensive material solution that will support Vietjet’s entire Airbus A320 and A330 fleet.

Under this exclusive agreement, Satair will provide consignment stock and pooling support for expendables specific to Vietjet’s fleet. The tailored service will allow Vietjet to ensure material availability with a defined performance level, providing cost savings to boost cash flow and reduce capital expenditure.

Paul Lochab, CCO of Satair, said that IMS collaboration goes beyond simply managing inventory - it’s about empowering airlines like Vietjet to focus on what they do best, with the confidence that they’ve got the right support behind them.

By optimising costs and freeing up resources, IMS allows maintenance and engineering teams to concentrate on critical aspects of their operations, he added.

Nguyen Duc Thinh, Vietjet Vice President, said: "We are pleased to advance our long-term partnership with Satair. As Vietjet is the largest Airbus aircraft operator in Vietnam, this agreement will continue to secure our efficient and robust material operations while reducing overall maintenance costs, supporting our active fleet and global flight network expansion.”

He went on to say that the agreement also allows the airline to further enhance its flight services and provide more affordable air travel for passengers.

Satair’s IMS product offering is an end-to-end supply chain solution that includes planning, sourcing, purchasing, logistics, and inventory management; covering all expendables and consumables required in the typical aircraft maintenance lifecycle. The solution is developed in close collaboration with the airline as a partner and a customer, full-service airlines and low-cost carriers alike.

Through its collaboration with Satair and other top aviation partners worldwide, Vietjet remains committed to investing in advanced aerospace solutions and services to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. The airline continues to expand its modern, fuel-efficient Airbus fleet as a part of its global expansion strategy and sustainable growth.

Vietjet is a fully-fledged member of International Air Transport Association (IATA) with the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate. As Vietnam’s largest private carrier, the airline has been awarded the highest ranking for safety with 7 stars by the world’s only safety and product rating website airlineratings.com and listed as one of the world's 50 best airlines for healthy financing and operations by Airfinance Journal in many consecutive years. The airline has also been named as Best Low-Cost Carrier by renowned organizations such as Skytrax, CAPA, Airline Ratings, and many others.

ღ Meanwhile, Satair is a global company and world leader in the commercial aerospace aftermarket. The company supports the complete life cycle of the aircraft with a full and integrated portfolio of flexible, value adding material management products, services and tailored support modules across all platforms.

As a key part of Airbus customer services, Satair has exclusive or primary distribution arrangements for aerospace component manufacturers, and supplies parts to multi-fleet customer airlines and MRO companies. It also fulfils the material service support obligation for the in-service fleet of more than 11,000 Airbus aircraft./.
