Vietjet, French technology firm set up long-term strategic partnership

Vietnam’s new-age carrier Vietjet and Safran, an international France-based high-technology group, have signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement during the official visit of Vietnam’s high-ranking Government delegation to France.

Paris (VNA) – Vietnam’s new-age carrier Vietjet  and Safran, an internationalFrance-based high-technology group, have signed a comprehensive strategicpartnership agreement during the official visit of Vietnam’s high-ranking Governmentdelegation to France.

The agreement is founded on from the existing 10-billion-USD cooperationbetween the two sides.

Thesigning ceremony was witnessed by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his French counterpartJean Castex, and high-ranking officials of the two countries.

Building on both sides’ existing cooperationin aircraft engine and engine services through CFM International worthapproximately 10 billion USD, Vietjet and Safran will extend their cooperationto a long-term strategic partnership to cover more aircraft engine deals and avariety of other aspects such as aircraft seats and interiors supply.

Safran will provide Vietjet with training programmesincluding management and technical training whilst also supporting the airlineto establish MRO capabilities in Vietnam.

 Vietjet and Safran Electronics &Defence will accelerate cooperation to enable Vietjet to achieve best-in-classFlight Data Analysis solution for its whole airline’s fleet.

Alexandre Ziegler, SafranSenior Executive Vice President said “We are very pleased to be anintegral part of Vietjet’s growth strategy.’’

 “This agreement reflects the relationship ofmutual trust between the airline and Safran and their recognition of our expertiseand experience.” he added.

Safran is an international high-technologygroup, operating in the aviation (propulsion, equipment, and interiors), defenceand space markets. Safran has a global presence, with 76,000 employees andsales of 16.5 billion EUR.

Vietjet Air - Vietnam’s largestairline in terms of the total number of passengers transported domestically, operatesa fleet of 90 aircraft. With its comprehensivenetwork in Vietnam and Asia Pacific, the airline looks to further expand acrosscontinents thanks to its new and modern fleet in the near future./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
