Vice President welcomes delegates to literature, poetry events

Vietnam is one of the lands of stability, peace, literature and friendship, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh said while receiving delegates to the fourth international conference promoting Vietnamese literature and the third international poetry festival in Hanoi on February 18.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam is one of thelands of stability, peace, literature and friendship, Vice President Dang ThiNgoc Thinh said while receiving delegates to the fourth internationalconference promoting Vietnamese literature and the third international poetryfestival in Hanoi on February 18.

Through literature, Vietnamese people demonstrate their patriotism, desire forpeace and undaunted will to reach the aspiration during the wartime, she said,highlighting its significance in the current national construction and defence.

Lauding valuable support from the global peace-loving people, especially poetsand writers, for the country, Thinh expressed her hope that they will visit thecountry in a larger number.

The international conference aims to promote special values of Vietnameseliterature to international friends, and help local writers exchange views withtheir international colleagues, the official said.

According Huu Thinh, President of the Vietnam Union of Literary and ArtsAssociations and President of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, the conferenceand the festival draw the participation of nearly 200 foreign poets, writers and translators from46 countries and territories.  

The events are being held along withthe 17th Vietnam Poetry Day on February 16-21 in Hanoi and the northernprovinces of Quang Ninh and Bac Giang.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
