Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee President Nguyen Thien Nhan had a busy day in Singapore on March 28 as he met with a number of local senior officials and attended many diplomatic activities.

The Vietnamese guest was received by Singaporean Deputy Prime MinisterTharman Shanmugaratnam as part of his ongoing March 27-30 visit to thecity-state.

The same day, Nhan worked with ChiefExecutive Director of the People’s Association Ang Hak Seng, who briefedhim on the organisational structure, functions and tasks of theassociation. Among other things, he conveyed how it manages theoperation of community clubs and builds working programmes at grassrootslevels to increase people’s involvement in community activities.

The VFF delegation visited the Tanjong Pagar Community Club and some others designed for the elderly.

It also met with Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of ManpowerAmy Khor to study Singapore ’s human resources management methodsand policies for guest workers.

The VFF delegationheard Singapore’s policies to attract talented individuals to workin the public sector while meeting with the Public Service Divisionunder the Prime Minister’s Office.

Later on the day,Nhan and his entourage attended a meeting with voters along with SamTan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary at the Ministry of Culture,Community and Youth.-VNA
