Union of Vietnamese students in France holds Congress

The Executive Board of the Union of Vietnamese Students in France (UEVF) has convened its eighth Congress for the 2019-2021 tenure in Paris.

Paris (VNA) – The Executive Board of the Union ofVietnamese Students in France (UEVF) has convened its eighth Congress for the2019-2021 tenure in Paris.

During the 2017-2019 tenure, the UEVF offered support tostudents, joined activities of the Vietnamese Embassy and preparations forvisits by high-ranking Vietnamese leaders, including Party General SecretaryNguyen Phu Trong in March 2018 and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi KimNgan in March 2019.

It also popularised Vietnam’s land and people and historicperiods in the process of safeguarding national sovereignty to French friends,as well as joined exchanges with Vietnamese students’ associations in Europeand raised 15,000 EUR (16,900 USD) for a rehabilitation centre in the centralprovince of Ha Tinh in 2017.

Doctor of aerospace science Nguyen Khanh Linh was elected asChairman for the new tenure.

Speaking at the event, Linh affirmed determination to workwith the board and UEVF members to achieve set goals, including strengtheningsolidarity among chapters via cultural and sport activities, providing allpossible support for students and looking towards the homeland.

Founded in 2004, the UEVF represents over 7,000 Vietnamesestudents and trainees from 25 chapters across the European country.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
