Unemployment insurance fund supports 1.7 million pandemic-hit workers

More than 1.7 million workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic have received assistance from the unemployment insurance fund as of October 19, according to the Vietnam Social Security (VSS).

Hanoi (VNA) – Morethan 1.7 million workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic have receivedassistance from the unemployment insurance fund as of October 19, according tothe Vietnam Social Security (VSS).

Benefiting from total aid of 4.087trillion VND (180.6 million USD), they include 1.51 million people currently participatingin unemployment insurance and 200,000 others who already stopped making contributionsto the insurance fund.

The relief provision is toimplement the Government’s Resolution No. 116/NQ-CP and the Prime Minister’sDecision No 28/QD-TTg on support for workers and employers affected by thepandemic.
