UN Senior National Planners Course kicks off in Hanoi
The Department of Peacekeeping Operations under the Ministry of National Defence is hosting the United Nations (UN) Senior National Planners Course, which opened in Hanoi on April 1.

Hanoi (VNA) – TheDepartment of Peacekeeping Operations underthe Ministry ofNational Defence is hosting the United Nations (UN) Senior NationalPlanners Course, which opened in Hanoi on April 1.
The event, which will run untilApril 12, hasdrawn the participation of 11 experts from the UN Integrated Training Serviceand 30 trainees from 23 UN-member countries engaged in peacekeeping activitiesacross the world, including five Vietnamese military and police officers.
Duringthe course and under the guidance of experts, participants will be endowed withbasic knowledge in recruiting, training, implementing, supporting and replacingmilitary and police units in UN peacekeeping activities, thereby improvingmanagement and efficiency in those activities.
It isthe 10th international course on UN peacekeeping activities held in Vietnam.
Speakingat the opening ceremony, head of the group of UN experts Rafael Barbieri saidthe course, the fourth of its kind followingthe three similar courses held in Serbia, Egypt, and China – marks an importantstep forward in Vietnam’s long-term cooperation strategy for peacekeepingefforts.–VNA

Vietnam wants the international community to join efforts in dealing with war consequences, helping the country develop sustainably and participate in UN peacekeeping operations more actively.
The political, security and defence dialogue serves as an effective channel for information exchange helping promote Vietnam-US relations, said participants at the 10th annual political, security and defence dialogue in Washington DC, the US, on March 25.
The Vietnamese Government pledges to actively participate in UN peacekeeping activities, said Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh.
As part of the ASEAN Day celebrations, the Vietnamese embassy will also host the ASEAN Family Day 2025 in Ottawa to foster solidarity and community spirit among ASEAN members in Canada.
