ꦬHow to improve the quality oftrainers at vocational schools in Vietnam was the main theme at a workshop heldon March 20 in the framework of a joint project on vocational training betweenVietnam and the UK.  

The event attracted the participation of delegates from morethan 100 vocational schools and colleges across the country, along with businessrepresentatives and experts from British vocational training establishments. Nguyen Van Lam, Deputy Director of HCM City Department ofLabour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said enhancing the quality of occupationaltrainers is among key tasks in the city’s human resources developmentprogramme. He urged vocational training establishments to set uplinkages with enterprises to ensure that trainees meet enterprises’ requirements. British Deputy Consul General in HCM City Neill James said the UKinternational trade office in HCM City will provide professional support toVietnam and hold business matching events in the field through the network ofexperts in the UK and UK consulates and diplomatic representative offices inVietnam.

He said quality occupational trainerswill help equip trainees with skills and knowledge necessary for them to gainsuccess in the global market.
