UK investors seek opportunities in Vietnam

The event forms part of activities for the Vietnam-UK JointEconomic and Trade Commission (JETCO)’s eighth session held in the cityon March 2.

During the event, Vietnamese DeputyMinister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa highlighted Vietnam’sinvestment potential, saying that the country is undertaking efforts torestructure its economy and improve its legal system and businessclimate to facilitate foreign investment.

Sheaffirmed that Vietnam is a responsible partner and has joined numerousbilateral and multilateral agreements to that effect.

Thoa expressed her hope that the forum will present opportunities forUK investors to enter Vietnam, contributing to bringing the twonations’ trade ties to new heights.

Lord DavidTerence Puttnam, the UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Vietnam,Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, stressed the need for local firms toactively build mutual trust with Vietnamese partners to createopportunities in the potential market.

The UK is nowone of Vietnam’s leading economic partners in the European Union,ranking 16 th out of 101 nations and territories investing in thecountry.-VNA

𒆙 Maximum fine of 3,000 USD proposed for violating invoice regulations

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
