Two-volume art book features Vietnamese cuisine

The Vietnamese version of a two-volume art book featuring popular street food in Hanoi and specialities in different regions has been put up for sale nationwide.

Hanoi (VNA) -
The Vietnamese version of atwo-volume art book featuring popular street food in Hanoi and specialities indifferent regions has been put up for sale nationwide.

Compiled by writer Nguyen Truong Quy and painter Dang HongQuan, the book comprises colourful and humorous drawings of food. A shortintroduction and “where to eat” guide are also featured.

The English version of the book will be released early nextyear.

Two volumes Le La Qua Vat (Street food in Hanoi) and An QuaXuyen Viet (Street food Nationwide) are now on sale at 115,000 VND (5 USD)each.

 “Various traditionalcultural values have declined in modern society,” said Quan. “I want topreserve them. Cuisine and street food are one of the best attractions fortourists.

“We want to introduce the signature food of Vietnam, whichcan’t be mistaken with dishes from other nations.”

Nguyen Thi Minh Thai, PhD of art, highly recommended people,especially foreign tourists, to read the book because the pictures helpedovercome the language barrier.-VNA
