Two Vietnamese universities listed in QS world rankings

UK educational organisation Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced its 2021 QS World University Rankings on June 10, with the Vietnam National University (VNU) - Hanoi and VNU - Ho Chi Minh City finding places in the 801-1,000 group.

Hanoi (VNA) - UK educational organisation Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)announced its 2021 QS World University Rankings on June 10, with the VietnamNational University (VNU) - Hanoi and VNU - Ho Chi Minh City finding places inthe 801-1,000 group.

The rankings feature1,002 of the world’s most prestigious universities in 93 countries andterritories, based on a methodology that assesses each institution on sixmetrics, including its reputation among academics and employers. There were 47new entrants in this year’s top 1,000, while more than 5,500 universities wereevaluated and considered for inclusion.

MIT in the US continuedits record-breaking streak at the head of the rankings, leading the way for theninth year in a row. The big story, however, is the impressive gains made byAsian universities, with a record 26 from the region now featuring in the top100.

Singapore has twoeducational institutions in the top 15, while 20 Malaysian universities are inthe top 1,000.

The US againboasts the most top universities, with four in the top 5./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
