Two foreign-funded primary schools in Hau Giang operational

Two primary schools have been put into operation in Long My district in the southern province of Hau Giang as part of project 3E (Educate, Enrich and Employ) initiated by ANZ Bank and the Saigon Children’s Charity.

Within the framework of the project, a first two-classkindergarten was inaugurated in August to welcome over 70 children tothe 2014-2015 academic year.

The fourth school in the project is scheduled to be inaugurated at the end of this month.

Launchedin November 2013, the three-year community education programme aims toprovide access to quality schooling in a sustainable way to over 4,000disadvantaged children in the Long My district, Hau Giang province.

TheSaigon Children’s Charity (SCC) is a UK non-governmentalorganisation operating in Vietnam for about 20 years. It buildsschools, award scholarships, provide access to vocational training andsupport organisations working with disabled children.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
