Twenty four more national treasures recognised

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the recognition of 24 new national treasures, the 6th approval of this kind in 2017.
Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuchas approved the recognition of 24 new national treasures, the 6th approval of this kind in 2017.

The 24 objects and sets of objects are:

1. A dagger with the handle shaped like a snake biting an elephant’s foot: dating back 2000 – 2500 years ago, preserved at Nghe An central province’s museum.

2. A ladle with elephant-shaped handle: dating back to 2000 – 2500 years ago, preserved at the Nghe An Museum.

3. The stone musical instrument found in Loc Hoa relic: dating back to nearly 3000 years ago, preserved at Binh Phuoc central province’s museum.

4. A sets of casts found in Nhon Thanh relic: dating from the 1st – 7th century, preserved at the museum of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.

5. The box containing sarira (Buddhist relics) in Thap Nhan relic: dating from the 7th – 8th century, preserved at the Nghe An Museum.

6. A relievo depicting Champa Buddha found in Central Highlands: dating from the 6th – 7th century, preserved at Gia Lai central highland province’s museum.

7. A Vishnu statue found in Go Thanh relic: dating from the 6th – 8th century, preserved at the Gia Lai Museum.

8. A pair of statues depicting the mythical bird Garuda fighting a snake found  in Thap Mam relic: dating from mid-13th century, preserved at Binh Dinh central province’s museum.

9. A set of statues of 10 sacred animals of the Phat Tich Pagoda: dating from the 11th century, preserved at the Phat Tich Pagoda, Bac Ninh northern province.

10. Statues of four female Buddha of the Dau – Duy Lau region: dating from the 18th century, preserved at the Dau, Phi Tuong, Dan pagodas in Bac Ninh.

11. Dragon-carved stone pillars at the Dam Pagoda: dating from the 11th century, preserved at the Dam Pagoda, Bac Ninh.

12. King Le Hien Tong’s tombstone: dating from the end of the 15th century, preserved at the Lam Kinh historical relic, the central province of Thanh Hoa.

13. Ancient texts carved on mountain rock at the Kinh Chu cave: dating back to the 19th – early 20th century, preserved at the Kinh Chu cave, the northern province of Hai Duong.

14. The “Con Son Bi Phuc tu bi” stele: dating from 1607, preserved at the Con Son – Kiep Bac architect and historical relic site in Hai Duong.

15. Mac Dynasty’s box-shaped stele in Doi Coc: dating from 1549, preserved at the temple worshiping first-place royal laureate Giap Hai in Dinh Tri commune, Bac Giang.

16. Two dragon-carved doors at the Keo Pagoda: dating from the 17th century, preserved at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, Hanoi.

17. A royal bed inside the temple worshiping King Dinh Tien Hoang: dating from the 17th century, preserved at the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital historical relic site in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

18. Buddhist prayer woodblocks at the Bo Da pagoda: dating from the 18th – 19th – early 20th century, preserved at the Bo Da pagoda, Bac Giang.
