Tuyen Quang to grow 11,400 ha of forests in 2017

The northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang has set to plant 11,400 hectares of new forests in 2017, raising its forest coverage to over 60 percent.

Tuyen Quang (VNA) – The northern🅷 mountainous province of Tuyen♕ Quang has set toplant 11,400 hectares of new forests in 2017, raising its forest coverage toover 60 percent. 

The area of newproductive forests will amount 11,150 hectares while the remainder will be forprotection and special forests.

Tuyen Quang will grantthe land use right of 50 years to families who register to grow new forests,for both productive and protection forests.

Besides, local authorities also guide fo🍒restry farms and nurseries toprovide  seedlings for forest growers.

The province hasmobilised social resources to protect and grow productive forests and support forestregeneration in a bid to strengthen ecological system protection and naturaldisaster prevention efforts. Tuyen Quang provinceexpects to exploit more than 9,750 hectares of planted forests for over 844,000cubic metres of wood in 2017. The province currentlyhas nearly 435,000 hectares of forest land, including 47,000 hectares ofspecial forest, 121,600 hectares of protection forest and over 266,400 hectaresof productive forest. In 2016, more than10,940 hectares of new forests have been grown in the province.-VNA

PM orders strengthened disaster prepar꧙edness ahead of storm season

Vietnam ramps up plastic waste recycling, reuse, treatm💞en൲t efforts

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public. Other localities—such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City—have also effectively implemented waste-sorting initiatives at source, along with models for plastic-free markets and urban areas.
