Tuyen Quang launches emulation drive 2019

The northern province of Tuyen Quang held a ceremony on February 13 to launch 2019 emulation drive and announce the Prime Minister’s Decision recognising Na Hang – Lam Binh Nature Reserve as a special national tourist site.

Tuyen Quang (VNA) – The northern province ofTuyen Quang held a ceremony on February 13 to launch 2019 emulation drive and announcethe Prime Minister’s Decision recognising Na Hang – Lam Binh Nature Reserve asa special national tourist site.

Speaking at the event, Politburo member and head of theParty Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh highlightedoutstanding values of the site, saying that it will lay an important foundationfor Tuyen Quang and neighbouring Bac Kan province to build a dossier to be submittedto the UNESCO for the recognition of Ba Be – Na Hang as a world naturalheritage.

The 61,300-hanature reserve, about 270 km northwest of Hanoi, stretches across 14 communesand townships of Na Hang and Lam Binh district. It lies amid thick forests alongthe banks of Gam River and Nang River.

The reserve is renowned for magnificent cavesand a diverse ecosystem with many endangered flora and fauna species. Mostnotably is Tokin snub-nosed langur (Rhinopithecus avunculus), a species listedby International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in the CriticallyEndangered Species as endemic to northern Vietnam.

Besides the value of biodiversity, it is also hometo various tourist attractions, including Thuong Lam area with 99 legendarymountains dubbed as “Ha Long Bay on land amidst mountains and forests”, Na Chaoand Pac Khoang caves, and waterfalls of Pac Ban, Pac Hau and Khuoi Nhi.Archaeologists have discovered here several ancient Vietnamese burial relicsdated over 10,000 years ago.

This place is also a concentration of differentcultural nuances of highland ethnic minority groups, such as Tay, Dao andH’mong.

On the occasion, Chinh also joined a tree planting festivalin Trung Mon commune, Yen Son district, starting an afforestation campaign inTuyen Quang this year, and attended the inauguration of a cultural house in KimQuan commune, Yen Son district.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
