Hanoi (VNA)– The M🅺ade in Thailand Outlet 2018 fair officially opened at the HanoiInternational Exhibition Centre at 91 Tran Hung Dao Street on January 4-7.

The event, the 13thone of its kind, was co-organised by the Office of Commercial Affairs of theThai Embassy in Vietnam and the Vietnam National Trade Fair & AdvertisingCompany (Vinexad). On show at 150 boothsof the fair are products of 100 firms from Thailand, including food andbeverages, household appliances, textile, jewellery, electric devices, healthcare products, car parts, bicycles and accessories, among others. Director of the Ministryof Industry and Trade’s Asia-Africa Markets Department Le Hoanh Oanh said thattrade relations between Vietnam and Thailand have seen strong growth. Two-waytrade hit 15 billion USD in 2017, a rise of 20 percent year-on-year.Especially, Thailand is Vietnam’s largest trade partner in ASEAN and the 10thleading investor in the country. Vietnam and Thailandhave closely worked with other ASEAN members to build the ASEAN EconomicCommunity. In addition, the two countries’ stronger participation in regionaland international economy offers various opportunities to promote trade cooperationand investment, Oanh added. She also voiced herhope that the trade fair will contribute to the bilateral trade relations asthe two nations deepen their strategic partnership and aim to bring tradeturnover to 20 billion USD by 2020.-VNA
