Tourism forum highlights Vietnam-Indonesia cooperation

A Vietnam-Indonesia tourism forum held in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 2 on the occasion of Vietnam’s 69 th National Day, has helped many tourist agencies of both sides establish partnerships.

Ten leading Vietnamese travel agencies together with the national flagcarrier Vietnam Airlines attended the event together with officialsfrom the national tourism administration and tourism association as wellas several localities with high potential in tourism.

Nearly 60 Indonesian businesses operating in the tourism and hospitality sector participated in the forum.
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Nguyen XuanThuy took note of the two nation’s strong cooperation recently andpointed to the untapped potential of the bilateral partnership.

Representatives from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry(KADIN) talked about the Indonesian government’s policies to supportsmall and medium-sized enterprises (SME), especially in the tourismfield.

The forum is the first activity to furtherVietnam-Indonesia tourism cooperation. Experts said with manysimilarities in geography and culture, the two countries sharesubstantial potential to promote and develop their non-smoke industry.-VNA
