Top local players compete at world badminton competition

Vietnamese badminton aces Nguyen Tien Minh and Vu Thi Trang will compete at the TOTAL Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships 2015, taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia from August 10-16.

Vietnamese badminton aces Nguyen Tien Minh and Vu Thi Trang will compete at the TOTAL Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships 2015, taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia from August 10-16.

Minh, ranked 34th globally, will play in the men’s singles event and face the Republic of Korea’s Lee Dong Keun in the first round on August 10.

The top male Vietnamese badminton player took a bronze medal at the 2013 edition of the competition but failed to repeat the achievement in 2014.

Meanwhile, Vu Thi Trang, who stands at 79th in the world ranking, will play in the women’s singles and her first-round opponent will be Grace Gabriel of Nigeria.

This is the first time Vietnam’s top female player has attended the even𝔉t.-V💯NA
