Top legislator hails patriotism emulation movement in Thai Nguyen
Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has praised the outcomes of the patriotism emulation movement in the northern province of Thai Nguyen, saying they have contributed significantly to local socio-economic development over the past five years.

Thai Nguyen (VNA) - Chairwoman of the National Assembly NguyenThi Kim Ngan has praised the outcomes of the patriotism emulation movement inthe northern province of Thai Nguyen, saying they have contributedsignificantly to local socio-economic development over the past five years.
Attending the province’s fifth patriotism emulation congress on September 29,the top legislator stressed that the province should continue holding movementsin line with political missions as well as Politburo Directive No 05-CT/TW onpromoting the study and following the thoughts, morality, and lifestyle of PresidentHo Chi Minh.
Ngan asked provincial leaders to pay due regard to improving the efficiency of theemulation and rewards council in the future, adding that council staff shouldhave a thorough understanding of Party policies and State regulations as wellas a high sense of responsibility.
According to Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman ofthe provincial People’s Committee Vu Hong Bac, the patriotism emulationmovement has been promoted at the grassroots level locally, with programmes suchas “Thai Nguyen joins hands to build new style rural areas” and “Good teaching– Good learning”.
Over the past five years, Thai Nguyen’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP)has remained robust, he said, averaging 11.1 percent. The province has alsoposted outstanding results in the building of new style rural areas, with 72percent of communes attaining the title, 21,500 jobs generated, and averagepoverty cut by 2.06 percent each year.
On the occasion, she presented the President’s first-class, second-class and third-class Labour Orders to local organisations and individuals for theircontributions to the cause of national construction and protection.
On the same day, Ngan paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the provincialParty Committee’s traditional house./.
