Some experts, researchers, and officials said the core and breakthrough point in the Partyleader’s mindset about the military policy and defence strategy manifested in thebook is that the safeguard of the national independence and self-reliance mustbe connected with that of peace. This is a creative and uniquetheoretical thought on military and defence that identifies the protection of apeaceful environment as a consistent objective of the building of the defence -military synergy.

It also emphasises and affirms the Party’scomprehensive and direct leadership over the Vietnam People’s Army during thebuilding and protection of the socialist Fatherland.

Thebook will have substantial influence on the country as well as others in theworld, he said, adding that holding great significance, it is the lodestar for Vietnam’s military policyand defence strategy not only at present but also in the future.

It is anextremely valuable handbook for each Party cadre and member, and people to thoroughlyunderstand the policy on all-people national defence and the task of Fatherlandsafeguarding in the new context, and for all-level Party organisations, authorities and sectors, especially those at the grassroots level, to promotethe entire political system’s role and sense of responsibly towards nationaldefence, according to the local official./.
