Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam will create best possible conditions forenterprises from Timor Leste to operate in the country, affirmed Prime MinisterNguyen Xuan Phuc.

He made thestatement when receiving newly appointed Timor Leste Ambassador to VietnamPascoela Barreto dos Santos in Hanoi on February 20.

He said heexpects the country to speed up the groundwork for its free trade agreementwith Vietnam to soon come into effect.

Phuc also welcomedthe ambassador to begin her duties in Vietnam, saying he believes she would contributeto boosting all-round bilateral cooperation, which currently falls short ofpotential.    

For herpart, the Timor Leste diplomat stressed the traditional relations between hercountry and Vietnam, as well as her good impression about a friendly and peacefulVietnam.

She hailedVietnamese investments in Timor Leste, particularly those made by the military-run telecommunication group Viettel.

She saidshe expects the Vietnamese Government will create more favourable conditionsfor businesses to invest in Timor Leste, especially in training and informationtechnology.

She pledgedto spare no effort to enhance bilateral ties.-VNA
