Thousands of contracts were signed at the Vietnam International Trade Fair 2018 (Vietnam Expo) that took place in Ho Chi Minh City from December 5-8, said a representative of the organiser.

Hanoi (VNA) – Thousands of contracts weresigned at the Vietnam International Trade Fair 2018 (Vietnam Expo) that tookplace in Ho Chi Minh City from December 5-8, said a representative of theorganiser.

Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Trade Fairand Advertising Company Trinh Xuan Tuan said on December 10 that the eventattracted nearly 11,650 visitors and 750 exhibitors, putting on display electricalequipment and electronics, high-tech toys, spare parts, industrial machinery,construction materials, food and beverages, and beauty products from 28countries and territories.

Exhibitors were hoping to popularise and acquire feedback ontheir products, thereby shaping market demand, as well as seek out potential partners,he said.

On the occasion, the Vietnam-China Economy and TradeCooperation Forum 2018 with a focus on market demand and potential cooperationbetween the two countries’ businesses in electrical equipment, electronics,construction, and decor, as well as international seminars on housing decor andimproving the quality of life were also held.

Tuan said only 320 firms joined the Vietnam Expo 2015. Thefigure rose to 520 in 2016 and 750 in 2018.

Many firms and visitors were keen on products from Longyancity, in the Chinese province of Fujian at the stall launched by the municipal Bureauof Commerce and Fujian Huiyuan International Exhibition Co., Ltd., he added.–VNA

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
