Thang Long-Hanoi video clip contest launched

The Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on February 4 launched a video clip contest on the subject of Thang Long-Hanoi to celebrate the upcoming millennium anniversary.

Speaking at the ceremony, director of the Hanoi Culture Fund Vu Phuongunderscored the scale of the contest, which will be open to bothdomestic and foreign participants.

The contestants must show at least three works within a limit of nineminutes, using any medium--such as video cameras, mobile phones orstill cameras--to depict Hanoians and their daily lives in moderntimes, he said

The entries selected from the primary examination will be posted on theofficial website of the festival, www.thanglonghanoi.gov.vn to bejudged by the public.

The contest winner will receive 20 million VND. There will also be two second prizes, each worth 10 million VND.

Those wishing to enter should send their work to the Hanoi Departmentof Culture, Sports and Tourism between March 10-15. The award-grantingceremony is scheduled to take place in July./.
