Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Thai Ministry of Industry has invited UnitedNations organisations to help modernise the country's industrial sector tosatisfy its Industry 4.0 agenda and accommodate investment in 10 targetindustries in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). 

The committeeon developing the EEC has signed a memorandum with the United NationsIndustrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to develop Thailand's industrialsector to 4.0 standards. 

IndustryMinister Uttama Savanayana expressed confidence that the agreement will bringabout a positive development for the EEC program, which emphasizes theefficient use of technology and innovations in industries such as motorvehicles and robotics. 

He said UNIDOis an organisation with comprehensive knowledge in industrial development andhas experience working with technologically advanced countries. The agreementalso aims to promote environmentally friendly development in the EEC.-VNA
