Thailand is updating its plans to attract more tourists to the country, according to Thai experts.

Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand is updating itsplans to attract more tourists to the country, according to Thai experts.

Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Deputy Governor ofTourism Authority of Thailand, said although Thailand has many advantages fortourism development such as ancient temples, shopping centres, resorts and beaches,the country has faced a range of difficulties and challenges due to impacts ofthe COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic crisis.

To address these challenges, Thailand has devised specifictourism development plans, including short-term, quarterly, annual andfive-year plans, aiming to at increased tourism numbers.

Thai authorities are coordinating with partners suchas airlines, travel agencies, theme parks, restaurants, and hotels in tourismpromotion. Currently, the country is focusing on promoting its 5F soft-powerfoundations - food, film, festival, fight, and fashion.

Thailand is implementing other measures to directly attractpotential sources of tourists. Specifically,to attract Chinese visitors, it is pushing ahead with the resumption of directflights between the two countries and organising large Chinese festivals in Thailand./.
