Phnom Penh (VNA) – The Khmer-Vietnam Association, in collaborationwith Metfone company – a subsidiary of military-run telecom group Viettel,presented 200 gifts to poor overseas Vietnamese and Cambodians in Phnom Penh,Cambodia on February 1, ahead of the lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

President of theKhmer-Vietnam Association Chau Van Chi showed his hope that the gift sets willhelp ease difficulties for those living in disadvantaged circumstances.

On behalf ofVietnamese Cambodians, he thanked for the support of Metfone company inparticular and other Vietnamese businesses operating in Cambodia in general,and extended his new year wishes to them.

Every year, when Tetcomes, the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese enterprises in Cambodia visit, andgrant presents to the overseas Vietnamese community, thus encouraging them tounite with each other, overcome difficulties, and maintain solidarity betweenthe two countries.

Earlier on January21-22, Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Quang Minh led a delegation to visit over 1300families of Vietnamese Cambodians living in the Tonle Sap Lake who are nowtemporarily relocated in Chong Kok village of Phsar Chhang district, Kampong Chhnangprovince.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
