Hanoi (VNA) -🍬 This is the first time a photo and video clip award with a technology theme has been held in Vietnam. The total prize value amounts to one billion VND, making it the largest award ever in the country.

In a recent interview with Vietnamplus, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam News Agency Nguyen Thi Su provided some information about the award.

- Could you please tell us about the number of entries up to now?

Journalist Nguyen Thi Su:𝄹 To date, the organizing committee has received approximately 100 entries, which were directly submitted through the registration portal on the website //congnghetutraitim.com.

The photos we received reflect a range of themes, vividly depicting the presence of technology in various aspects of social life such as agriculture, transportation, irrigation, healthcare, education, literature, culture, sports, and feature people from all walks of life such as youth, women, the elderly, children, ethnic minorities, and religious communities.

However, we have noticed a scarcity of videos in the competition. We hope to receive more entries in the coming time, including both photos and video clips, with concise and intelligible contents, closely aligned with the technology theme, and display creativity. The entries must neither violate good customs and traditions nor contain negative content related to politics, religion, beliefs, or culture. They must not infringe upon intellectual property rights, copyright, and legal regulations. Each author has the privilege to submit an unlimited number of works for the award, and there is no time limit for the submission of entries.

- How is Vietnam News Agency capitalizing on the strengths of domestic and foreign bureaus to promote and spread the significance of this award?

Journalist Nguyen Thi Su:💧 As the national news agency and the primary multimedia agency of the country, the Vietnam News Agency consists of five editorial departments, two source news centres and eight newsrooms (print and electronic). With representative offices in all 63 cities and provinces nationwide and 30 overseas bureaus across the five continents, the VNA has a unique advantage of implementing and providing information in various forms for the press and media outlets, as well as a wide audience both domestically and internationally.

Given the widespread presence of VNA reporters across different regions, the VNA staff not only promote and disseminate information about the award but also actively participate in the contest. The organizing committee welcomes the companionship and participation of journalists, reporters, and the Vietnamese community at home and abroad to ensure the event’s success.

- In fact, the field of technology and the concepts of digital society, cyber security, as well as the theme of the award “Technology with heart” are considered very difficult to express in photos and videos. Can you suggest some approaches for the participants?

Journalist Nguyen Thi Su:ဣ The organizing committee selected the theme “Technology with heart” with the aim of honouring the significant contributions of technology to the society. People are placed at the heart of all technological advancements, ensuring that everyone has the right and opportunities to access technology.

Technology can create profound changes on a global scale, impacting every field, industry, and social activity. It is also an integral part of our daily lives, present in familiar devices such as phones, computers, and household appliances. There are numerous technology products that are applied in our everyday lives, and by capturing them through vivid images, we can raise awareness of their roles and the significant practical effects they have on society. Each technology product and its application in daily life can serve as an inspiring topic for creating beautiful, meaningful photos, and high-quality videos.

It could be the application of technology in implementing digital government, building smart cities, providing public services, solving management and social development issues in the digital environment. Tech also helps develop the digital economy, digital finance, health, education, communications, and social insurance, making people’s lives more convenient.
Taking people as the center is the goal of every technology product. Technology development is to serve national interests, the development of the country, and for the sake of people. We can discover a variety of aspects that include technology in our daily lives.

- Thank you very much!

The award “Technology with heart” was launched by the Vietnam News Agency and the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) on January 25 to honour important contributions of technology. The award ceremony is scheduled for late May 2024./.
