Techfest Mekong 2020 opened in Ben Tre

The start-up festival Techfest Mekong 2020 opened in the Ben Tre city of the Mekong Delta province of the same name on November 21, with over 120 exhibitors taking part.

BenTre (VNA) – The start-up festival Techfest Mekong 2020 opened in the Ben Tre city of the Mekong Delta province of the same nameon November 21, with over 120 exhibitors taking part.  

Speaking at the event,Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung said the event providesa platform to promote start-ups and innovation among the localities in the regionand the country. He expressed his hope that regional innovation activities willfurther develop in the future.

Chairman of theprovincial People’s Committee Tran Ngoc Tam said the event will createfavourable conditions for start-ups to popularise products, pool resourcesfor investment, and honour individuals and organisations in start-up and innovationactivities.

It is also expected toform a start-up ecological system and connect businesses, experts, investorsand start-up funds together.

On display areproducts made by students in Ho Chi Minh city and the region, the provincialWomen’s Union and Farmers’ Association.

The festival also drew60 start-ups, nearly 30 domestic and foreign investors, and economic groups.

As part of the event,a seminar introducing start-up incubation programmes in industry-agriculture,and a youth start-up forum were also held./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
