Summer camp for Vietnamese youths in Europe opens in France

The 9th summer camp of Vietnamese young people in Europe kicked off at the Vietnamese Culture Centre in France on August 24 evening, with the participation of nearly 200 Vietnamese students and youths from 10 European countries.

Paris (VNA) – The 9th summer camp of Vietnamese young people in Europe kicked off at the Vietnamese Culture Centre in France onAugust 24 evening, with the participation of nearly 200 Vietnamese students andyouths from 10 European countries.

Initiated in 2007 and held  annually by the Association of Vietnamese Youths and Students in Europe since 2015, the event aims to connect youngVietnamese and Vietnamese-origin individuals living abroad and provide a venue forcultural, sports, and scientific exchanges and interactions among the youth.

🅺 Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman ofthe Association of Vietnamese Youths and Students in France NguyenPhan Bao Thuy said thesummer camp offers a chance for Vietnamese students and youths in Europeancountries to meet and strengthen their bonds.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassadorto France Dinh Toan Thang said the Vietnamese community, including students andyouths, has consistently been a positive element contributing to the development of closerelations between Vietnam and European countries.

He took this occasion to praisethe youth's dynamism, solidarity, enthusiasm and passion as well as activitiestowards the homeland.

Permanent Secretary of the Ho Chi MinhCommunist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee and President of the VietnamYouth Federation (VYF) Nguyen Ngoc Luong acknowledgedthe contributions made by overseas Vietnamese students and youths in movements towardsthe homeland, affirming that Vietnamese young people living and working abroadare always an integral part of the federation.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
