Summer camp for children of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia opens

As many as 205 children lauded for their outstanding achievements and 41 officials from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia are joining a summer camp which takes place in Ho Chi Minh City from July 31 to August 4.

HCM City (VNA) – As many as 205children lauded for their outstanding achievements and 41 officials fromVietnam, Laos, and Cambodia are joining a summer camp which takes place in HoChi Minh City from July 31 to August 4.

The programme, the fifth of its kind, isheld by the municipal chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

There were 57 participants from Cambodianlocalities of Phnom Penh, Battanmbang, Kampot, Svay Rieng, and Kratie; alongwith 54 from the Lao provinces of Vientiane, Champasak, and Attapeu.

Meanwhile, 135 Vietnamese delegates fromHCM City and border provinces such as Kon Tum, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Long An,and Kien Giang are also participating in the programme.

During the programme, young delegates willoffer incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at the municipal Children’sHouse. They will also visit the city’s famous destinations, including the HoChi Minh Museum, the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Artinus 3D Art Museum, and the riverbus route.

In addition, they are scheduled to attend acultural exchange programme and meet with leaders of HCM City.

Head of the organising board Phan Thi ThanhPhuong said the biennial programme aims to deepen solidarity among children ofthe three countries. –VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
