Son La (VNA) – Police and border guards in thenorthern mountainous province of Son La arrested two drug dealers in Mai Sondistrict on September 21.
At the scene, the forces seized 80 plastic packagescontaining 15,200 methamphetamine pills, three cell phones, and a scooter,among others.
The arrested are Mua A Nha, born in 1981 and residing in MaiSon’s Phieng Cam commune, and Song A Nu, born in 2001 and residing in Song Madistrict’s Muong Sai commune.
The case is under further investigation.
About 300 km from Hanoi, Son La province is notorious as adrug hotspot, with around 1,000 cases and hundreds of kilogrammes of narcoticsseized every year./.
Local authorities say that the number of ethnic minority juveniles engaging in drug trafficking at the Vietnamese-Lao border in the central province of Quang Tri has increased sharply over the last five years.
