SonLa (VNA) – The Standing Board of the Ho Chi Minh Communist YoungUnion Committee of Son La province coordinated with local universities andcolleges to hold a get-together on April 15 the occasion of Bunpimay - thetraditional New Year festival of Laos.

An artperformance was organised as part of the event, aiming to help audience betterunderstand the culture, fine traditions, and special close friendship betweenVietnam and Laos.

Participantsat the event also had a chance to join in a water splashing ceremony andtraditional folk games.

Addressingthe event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Congextended New Year wishes to Lao students.

Healso highly appreciated the universities' efforts, including providing trainingand ensuring a decent living and learning environment for Lao students, therebymaking an important contribution to the effective implementation of thecomprehensive cooperation programme between Son La province and nine northernprovinces of Laos on education and training of high quality human resources.

Onthis occasion, the Department of Education and Training, and the provincialStudy Encouragement Association awarded certificates of merit to 45 Laostudents who had outstanding academic achievements and participated in localyouth union activities.

🌳 Since2015, more than 3,000 Lao students have studied in Son La. After graduation,many of them have returned home and became key officials in governmentagencies, actively contributing to the development of their homeland./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
