Customs officers at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi have freshly seized 2.7kg of synthetic drug and cocaine destined for Australia via express service.

The drug, sent from Hanoi on February 11, was hidden in three cosmetics boxes.

A customs officer said that the sender used a fake name and address.

The case is under further investigation.

The trafficking of drugs by air has recently been on the rise, mainly uncovered in Ho Chi Minh City.

During January-September, 2014, over 20 drug trafficking cases werebrought to light at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, resulting in theseizure of 14 suspects, 7.7 kilos of heroin, 13 kilos of cocaine, 4kilos of meths and nearly 40 kilos of drug precursors.-VNA
