Ninh Thuan (VNA) – Tackling drought in central coastal provinces was discussed at a conference held by the People’s Committeไe of Ninh Thuan province꧅ in collaboration with the Belgian Development Agency (BTC).

Prof. Dr. Tran Thuc, Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council for the National Committee on Climate Change, presented a report on the impact of climate change in the provinces of Ha Tinh, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and Khanh Hoa.
The report also discussed the effective management of water resources serving socio-economic development, technology for forecasting and warning drought and the Israeli water-saving irrigation model. On the occasion, the Ninh Thuan People’s Committee, the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Department for Science, Education, Natural Resources and Environment and the BTC agreed a pilot project on green growth in Ninh Thuan.
The project includes the use of water-saving technology for agriculture in response to drought and urban trees in Phan Rang – Thap Cham city of Ninh Thuan province. The Belgian Kingdom committed to sponsoring 25 million EUR over six years for projects on the management of water resources and climate change in urban planning in Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and Ha Tinh.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
