Smart production sought for sustainable textile development

Hanoi (VNA) – A workshop discussing smart production towards sustainabledevelopment for the textile and garment industry was held by the VietnamTextile and Apparel Association (VITAS) in Hanoi on July 13.

The event is part of a cooperation programme between the Republic of Korea(RoK) and Vietnam, which was agreed in a memorandum of understanding signed atthe RoK-Vietnam Joint Economic Committee’s 15th meeting in the RoKon February 7, 2016.

The seminar sought to improve the capacity of Vietnamese textile enterprises inthe context of digital era and the 4th industrial revolution, thussharpening their competitive edge.

It offered a good chance for Vietnamese firms to meet with leading RoK experts,and get consultations of dyeing and smart fabric management systems, digitaltechnology transformation and 3D design in the fashion industry, sustainable developmenttrends in the textile and garment industry.

VITAS President Vu Duc Giang said the RoK is now the fourth largest importer ofVietnamese apparel, spending 2.28 billion USD in 2016.

Meanwhile, Vietnam imported a great volume of fabric and materials from the RoKto serve its textile industry in the year.

Truong Van Cam, Vice President of the VITAS said the association is workinghard to encourage its members to renovate production, towards smart productionin line with the on-going 4th industrial revolution.

The smart factory solution in the industry is hoped to help increase productivity,and quantitative production, reduce production cost, effectively manage personneland better working conditions, he said.

The 4th industrial revolution is predicted to reach a suddendevelopment speed in the time ahead. Therefore, industries using intensive laborare advised to fully tap opportunities and overcome challenges brought by therevolution.-VNA

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
