Bratislava (VNA) – Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has said he welcomesVietnamese IT companies’ investment in his country, pledging the best possiblecondition for them to carry out investment plans.
He madethe remark while receiving Vietnamese Minister of Information andCommunications Truong Minh Tuan, who is on a working visit to the centralEuropean nation from November 30 to December 1.
Fico saidSlovakia and Vietnam will augment cooperation to lift bilateral relations to anew height, adding that his country has completed preparations for theestablishment of an inter-governmental committee on economic cooperation withVietnam in the first half of 2017.
Meanwhile,Minister Tuan announced that Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is topay an official visit to Slovakia in 2017 at the invitation of the SlovakGovernment.
He quotedPM Phuc as saying that Vietnam considers Slovakia as a traditional and veryimportant partner and believes the two countries’ multifaceted cooperation willbe intensified in an effective and practical manner in the time ahead.
Tuan andSlovak Deputy PM Peter Pellegrini inked a memorandum of understanding on ITcooperation, focusing on cyber security, between the Vietnamese Ministry ofInformation and Communications and the Slovak Deputy PM’s Office.
They alsowitnessed the signing of an agreement on setting a joint venture betweenVNPT-Technology (a subsidiary of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications GroupVNPT) and Slovakia’s Danubia Tel company.
Pellegrinisaid this is an important step in IT cooperation, noting that IT is animportant sector in both economies.
Duringhis stay, Tuan had a working session with Robert Simoncic – an official at theSlovak Ministry of Economy, and engaged in talks with officials of the SlovakMinistry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development.
