Singapore, New Zealand pledge to keep trade in essential goods
Singapore and New Zealand on April 15 jointly announced a declaration on trade of over 120 products identified as essential goods for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

Singapore (VNA) – Singapore and New Zealand on April 15 jointlyannounced a declaration on trade of over 120 products identified as essentialgoods for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
Singaporean Minister of Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing said thedeclaration aims to enable the continued production and flow of essentialsupplies to their intended destinations.
He added that Singapore will receive its first shipment ofessential supplies from New Zealand next week under the agreement.
According to the declaration, the two countries will removetariffs for 120 essential products, and not to impose export restrictions.
The declaration builds onan earlier joint ministerial statement on supply chain connectivity issued by Singapore and New Zealand in March.
Seven other countries,namely Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Laos, Myanmar and Uruguay, have alsopledged their commitment to the statement to ensure supply chain connectivityamid the COVID-19 pandemic./.
