Senior Party official highlights positive development of Vietnam-Palestine relations
Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung has expressed his delight at the positive development of the solidarity and traditional friendship between Vietnam and Palestine over the past time.

Hanoi (VNA) – ಌSecretary of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung has expressed his delight at the positive development of the solidarity and traditional friendship between Vietnam and Palestine over the past time.
Receiving Riad Malki, Special Envoy of the President and Advisor for International Affairs of Palestine in Hanoi on December 25, Trung said Malki’s visit is expected to contribute to strengthening the friendship and bilateral cooperation.
He reaffirmed the Vietnamese Party, State, and people’s consistent stance of supporting the just struggle of the Palestinian people for their fundamental national rights, saying Vietnam steadfastly backs the two-state solution, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on United Nations resolutions, and ensuring the legitimate interests of relevant sides.
The official noted his deep concern and sympathy over the immense difficulties and losses endured by the Palestinian people due to the escalating violence in the Gaza Strip over the past year, while calling on all parties to exercise restraint and promote peaceful dialogue.
Vietnam supports and stands ready to join international efforts to promote dialogue and peacefully resolve conflicts, he emphasised.
For his part, Malki thanked the Party, State, and people of Vietnam for their valuable support for the just struggle of the Palestinian people.
He said the Palestinian leaders and people admire the Vietnamese people's past struggle for national liberation and reunification, and commended the Southeast Asian nation’s achievements in national reconstruction and socio-economic development during nearly 40 years of reform.
Malki briefed Trung on the current situation in Palestine, including the severe human losses and substantial damage to socio-economic infrastructure in Gaza. He expressed hope that the international community, including Vietnam, would support reconciliation efforts to soon achieve a ceasefire and end the conflict in Gaza.
The State and people of Palestine treasure their solidarity with the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, he said, stressing Palestine will continue to preserve and do its utmost to foster the relations./.
The Vietnamese Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People (VCSPP), in coordination with the Palestinian Embassy in Vietnam and the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association in Hanoi held a meeting on November 29 to mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Palestine (1988 -2023) and the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
Vietnam will play a friendly match with Palestine on September 11 at the Thien Truong Stadium in northern Nam Dinh province, as part of the FIFA Days events.
