The 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) and the 11th ASEAN Para Games (ASEAN Para Games 11) have launched their official slogan as “For a Stronger South East Asia”.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 31st Southeast Asian Games(SEA Games 31) and the 11th ASEAN Para Games (ASEAN Para Games 11) havelaunched their official slogan as “For a Stronger South East Asia”.

According to the Vietnam Sports Administration, the slogan is expected to send to governmentsand people in the region a strong message of solidarity to build a powerful ASEANCommunity and further promote its role in the international arena.

Earlier, the regional sport events’ official logo and mascot havebeen introduced, with the logo symbolising a flying bird and a V-shaped hand andthe mascot based on the saola – a rare animal listed in Vietnam’s Red Book ofEndangered Species.

The national steering committee for the organisation of SEAGames 31 agreed at the latest meeting to set the date for the regional sportevent on May 12-23, 2022.

The event has been postponed due to complicated developmentsof the COVID-19 pandemic. SEA Games 31 and ASEAN Para Games 11 wereoriginally scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 2 last year.

Vietnam, which hosts SEA Games for the second timeafter 18 years, will hold 40 sports covering 526 events and welcome about10,000 athletes.
The capital city of Hanoi will be the main venue for the tournament alongsideother localities such as Quang Ninh, Phu Tho and Bac Ninh./.
