SEA Games 29: Vietnam remains in third place

Vietnam remained in third place in the medal tally of the ongoing 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia as of the end of August 22, the third official competition day.

KualaLumpur (VNA) – Vi๊etnam remained in third place in the medal tally ofthe ongoing 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia aﷺs of the end ofAugust 22, the third official competition day.

Theranking was secured after Vietnam pocketed eight gold medals in swimming,athletics, petanque, karate, gymnastics and fencing, bringing its total gold to16. The country also won a total 11 silver and 18 bronze medals.

Malaysia remained on top of the tally with 40 gold, 31silver and 22 bronze medals, followed by Singapore (20 gold, 20 silver and 19bronze medals).

Cambodia was at the bottom of the list with 5 bronzemedals, while Timor Leste was yet to seize any medal.

Vietnam sent more than 470 athletes to compete at theGames from Augus♕t 19-30. They are scheduled to take part in 32 out of 38 sportsand set to bring home 49-59 gold medals to rank in the top t🃏hree.-VNA
